Meet Jarmo Tikkanen

What did you do before?

I have been working in the energy industry for 10 years in total; first, as Account Manager and Trading Trainee at E.ON and later, as Senior Account Manager in Fortum Markets. When being employed at the Energi Danmark Group, I was Account Manager for 3 years and now, I am Key Account Manager.

What are your primary tasks?

I sell energy to the largest Finnish customers such as companies with the concrete industry, the food industry and public administration. I prepare tenders, find new prospects and tend a lot of meetings both with potential and existing customers. In 2013, we won a large tender and succeeded in bringing in Hansel, the Finnish state, as customers. It was a huge project and the tender itself took more than a month to prepare. Therefore, it was a great satisfaction to sign the deal with the Group’s largest customers so far.

What are your key strengths?

I am good at networking and being outgoing which is important in my job. You have to be able to talk to many different people and to know the customers’ need in order to offer the best possible solution.
