Professional Handling of Electrical Heat Boiler at Brovst District Heating

”The PBA software is a very user-friendly tool that saves me time in my daily work.” Ole K. Jensen, Plant Manager at Brovst District Heating

Brovst District Heating is a medium-sized district heating plant with four employees. Besides two gas engines, the plant which supplies 1,300 consumers daily also has an electric heat boiler that is used for regulating power down. Ole K. Jensen has been Plant Manager since 2009. About the reason for choosing Energi Danmark as balance responsible, he says:

“Energi Danmark was able to offer significantly better conditions for handling our electrical heat boiler and they had thought a lot about how to handle the market for regulating power. A competitive price was one of the decisive factors for choosing Energi Danmark.”

The way the electric heat boiler works is that Brovst District Heating puts the boiler at disposal in case of overproduction of electricity. The boiler allows Brovst Fjernvarme to use electricity from the market and thereby make an extra profit.

Every day, Ole K. Jensen benefits from Energi Danmark’s software for production planning where he can easily enter the production and get an overview of the operation.

“The software is a very user-friendly tool that saves me time in my daily work. It is easy to manage the break-even price and get an overview of the situation. At the same time, there is a continuous development of the software securing a constant focus on new functions and automations. At some point for instance, we had some requests for the software that were subsequently implemented by Energi Danmark. The ongoing development therefore makes the tool very applicable for us,” explains Ole K. Jensen.
